About
Our Breeding Program We breed infrequently, and primarily for the purpose of producing quality dogs for use in our own breeding program. We are committed to producing quality Mastiffs which exhibit true breed type, in temperament as well as in conformation. We never sell the pick puppy from a litter, though as any experienced breeder will tell you, there are sometimes multiple "picks" in a litter, and sometimes none. We are of the "wait and see" school of evaluating puppies. Often they will be 8 to 12 weeks old before we feel confident about our evaluations of the potential of our puppies, and like all reputable breeders, no puppies leave our home until after they reach 8 weeks of age. All of our "companion only" puppies are sold on a Limited Registration and must be spayed or neutered. We sell all of our puppies with contracts, which are available upon request. We do not accept deposits for puppies. Instead we create a list of potential homes, and then try to match the puppies we have with the best potential home, with priority given to the quality of life of the puppy in question. If two homes seem equal in quality, then we would choose the home who has been waiting longest for a pup. We do not ship puppies. We prefer for our puppy buyers to visit in person to pick up their puppy. We do not participate in health testing. You can read more on our reasons why here. The average lifespan for dogs of our line is around 8 years of age, we've had some live longer and some live shorter. Our line is a very slow maturing line. Our dogs tend to look their best at the ages of 3 to 5 years of age. When they are 18 months to 2 years, they can look very immature compared to other lines at that age. For those looking for a show potential dog, this is important to bear in mind. We are one of the slowest maturing lines in the Mastiff community, which makes showing a challenge for the first two years of the dogs life.We are primarily interested in ensuring that any puppies that we do not keep ourselves goes into a loving and caring forever home. This questionnaire is just one tool we use to screen potential homes to ensure that our puppies will go to the right home for them. Please do not fill this form out if you are not seriously interested in a Old School puppy to keep for its lifetime.Puppy Questionnaire
