Ch. Hannibal of MakarDate of Birth: August 18, 1974 |
Hannibal was our first mastiff. He was intended to be a pet since, at the time, the brindle color was not "fashionable" in the show ring. However he turned out to be a very nice dog and we were subsequently drawn in to the exciting world of dog shows. We were prompted to buy a bitch that complemented him both in pedigree and conformation and that is what we started our line with. The basic foundation of our line, therefore, became old Peach Farm, Tiberias, and Massalane. |
Hannibal was always, first and foremost, a family dog, though, and that is how he will always be remembered. To the left is a snapshot taken of him with John III (the first human baby at the Old School). |
Hannibal was wonderful with children, as many mastiffs are. You can see a curious John III checking out what's underneath those jowls of of Hannibal's while he sleeps. |
Hannibal was very gentle, in general and with children especially. Here John III feeds Hannibal from his highchair. You can also see just how big Hannibal was, with his easy access to the highchair. |
Hannibal was a wonderful dog and was truly part of the family. He will always be cherished in our hearts. |
